WHAT INFORMATION DO I COLLECT ABOUT YOU?

I collect information about you when you register as a student. It is important for your practice for me to know about relevant health challenges, injuries or medical conditions. It is useful to have your email address for class schedule changes and important updates. I have legal obligation to keep a class log of student attendance.

 

WHAT IS THE LEGAL BASIS FOR HAVING YOUR DATA?

The ‘legal basis’ is my reason under data protection law for having this information.

I’m providing you with a service and your personal data is held under the basis of contract. I only ask for the information I need and will only use it for administration and to provide service.

In some areas I have a legal obligation to keep data such as purchases, attendance log and incident reports.

 

HOW WILL I USE THE INFORMATION ABOUT YOU?

I collect information to process your attendance history, purchase or booking, and to manage your membership. If you contact me with queries or feedback, I will use your information to respond. 
If you have agreed, I will email you updates on the yoga schedule and occasional yoga tips. If you agree, I will email you with events and offers which may be of interest to you.

 

MEDICAL INFORMATION

This information helps ensure that all participants are safe to take part. In the unlikely event of an incident it helps me to pass essential information on to emergency services.

 

HOW LONG DO I KEEP YOUR DATA?

I have to keep all data relating to purchases and other financial transactions for 6 years for tax records.

 

ACCESSING OR AMENDING YOUR INFORMATION
You have the right to request a copy of the information we hold about you. If you would like a copy of some or all of the information I hold, please write to info@jadestottyoga.com

I want to ensure that your information is correct and up to date, so you are also entitled to ask us to update or remove information which you think is inaccurate.

REMOVING OR RESTRICTING YOUR INFORMATION
You have the right to request that I remove your information from my records, or stop using it for particular purposes. I will do this wherever possible, with the following exceptions:

If restriction would prevent me providing a service you have asked for (e.g. attending classes) and you still wish to receive the service.

Where I have a legal obligation to retain the information (financial/tax)

There may be other situations where my business interests require me to keep your data, and I will advise if it is not possible to remove your data entirely.
